UK Mail, has achieved the Investors in People (IIP) re-accreditation for another 3 years.

Leading independent mail and parcels company UK Mail, has achieved the Investors in People (IIP) re-accreditation for another 3 years. Britains premier people management standard is the latest’s award that recognises the value of its people and its customers.

The award identifies UK Mail’s continued focus on providing excellent service through the recruitment, development and support of talented and motivated individuals that are able to build mutually beneficial and lasting relationships with the business as well as customers.

IIP auditors carried out a stringent assessment of UK Mail’s employee practices and management effectiveness against the best in UK practice. Assessors visited various UK Mail sites including, UK Pallets, Birmingham Hub, Runcorn, Leeds, Bristol and Milton Keynes, where UK Mail’s Customer Care Centres are based.  Assessors spent time with Senior Management as well as conducting individual interviews with employees randomly selected   from all departments at head office and all levels at sites, to understand their views on how the company values people, the learning and development on offer as well as how UK Mail communicate and engage as a business, before awarding the accreditation.

Guy Buswell, CEO of UK Mail, said, “We’re delighted to gain the Investors in People re-accreditation. It is a testament to our people and our managers and the way they work which is supported by sustained investment in skills and development.

Here at UKMail, we pride ourselves in our Investors in People Accreditation, and want all our staff to see that we are here to help, support and develop people to achieve their own personal goals. The accolade recognises the particular attention we give to employee development policies which include our Training skills Matrix and Directory outlining the skills and training available for every single role within the company in order to help progress further.

Not only do we work to develop our people but also work to develop the local communities we work in with our apprenticeship scheme ‘AppForThat’ and our Work Experience initiative which supports and helps introduce young people into the world of work.

This is a real positive step for us as a business in terms of valuing our people as well as knowing our HR Strategy is heading in the right direction.”

UK organisations that have achieved the IIP standard (which was launched in 1991) are proven to have achieved better profitability, greater productivity, enhanced financial performance and reduced employee turnover.
