Wallenstam’s first official blasting for the new construction project Orangeriet in Solberga, Stockholm has now been completed together with Karin Wanngård, Commissioner of Finance of the City of Stockholm. Occupation of the 170 apartments is expected at year-end 2017/2018.

“This is our second new construction project here. We are providing more than 300 apartments in total to Solberga, a city district we are very much looking forward to developing, strategically located between Älvsjö and Telefonplan. The start of construction today also represents an important step in our goal to initiate the production of 7,500 apartments up to and including 2018 something that is so badly needed in our big cities,” says Hans Wallenstam, CEO of Wallenstam.

“The housing shortage is one of the greatest challenges in the region, which means that it is extra nice to be able to contribute to the start of additional apartments in Solberga. We are working actively to accelerate the processes involved and contribute to more housing our goal is to deliver 40,000 apartments by 2020,” says Karin Wanngård, Commissioner of Finance of the City of Stockholm.

In late 2015, Wallenstam started its first construction project in Solberga, Grönskan, involving 148 apartments. Orangeriet’s 170 apartments, which have been designed by Wingårdh Architect's Office, will feature cedar wood façades and offer apartments in the sizes 1-4 rooms and kitchen.

Orangeriet’s apartments will be located just adjacent to the new construction project Grönskan and the position of the buildings will create a common courtyard where an orangery will allow the residents to spend pleasant time together.
