Waystream, who develops and sells advanced digital infrastructure such as switches and routers for fiber-based broadband networks, has once again won an order via its Norwegian partner NetNordic Solutions A/S from HomeNet. The value of the order is 2 million SEK and the equipment will be delivered during September and October.

HomeNet, with its 60,000 customers, is one of Norway's fastest growing providers of TV and broadband services and has been a recurring customer of Waystream since 2014. The new order consists of Waystreams ASR6000 and associated optics, SFP, and will be used to expand HomeNet’s fiber broadband network.

"We are proud of the continued confidence from HomeNet and at the same time we are happy to see how they continue to grow rapidly. HomeNet is a large customer of ours, and together we will make sure that even more Norwegians will have access to fast and secure connectivity. In cooperation with NetNordic we will expand the HomeNet fiber network and at the same time focus on delivering the best customer experience, says Mats Öberg, CEO of Waystream.

Fiber technology is rapidly increasing in Norway. By the end of 2016, there were close to 810,000 fiber broadband subscribers, an increase of 126,000 subscribers from previous year, corresponding to a 38 percent increase. Like in Sweden, TV viewing via fiber is also increasing strongly in Norway. In 2016, the number of TV subscriptions via fiber increased by 72,500 to almost 570,000. In Norway, television through fiber is the second largest access technology. [1]
