Music Service WiMP has been available in a closed beta version in Germany since December 2011, where mainly representatives of the music industry have been invited to test the service. In a survey in which over half of the test users participated, 9 out of 10 answered that they are satisfied with the service and that they will continue using it daily or several times a week. Aspiro is preparing for commercial launch early in the second quarter.

WiMP focuses on editorial content and to customize the service to each market. In Germany, the local organization is in place, emphasizing the editorial content and music industry relations. Selected representatives of the German music industry have for some months been evaluating WiMP and providing their feedback on the service. And the Germans seem to like what they see. In the user survey, 90 percent responded that they are happy or very happy to use the service and 88 percent said that they will continue to use the service daily or several times a week.

"We are obviously excited about all the positive feedback we received from the German music industry and we look forward to continuing the good cooperation towards our launch," said Aspiro CEO Gunnar Sellæg.

"WiMP will be the best service for German music lovers, just as it is the best service for the Swedish music fans in Sweden, or Norwegian music fans in Norway. WiMP makes it easier to find your favorite music and making new discoveries in all genres," says Sellæg.

During the German beta period, thousands of new songs have been added to the service and the German music editors have worked to update the content, including special pages for R&B/Soul and Schlager music. As in other countries, the German WiMP-editors provide daily music tips, editorial playlists, recommended tracks and albums, news, charts and much more inspiration to their users.

In 2012, Aspiro will launch new music services in Germany, Holland, at least two additional countries in Europe and at least one country outside Europe. The German launch is expected early in the second quarter.
