Woman2Woman Breast Cancer Foundation and the Florida Panthers Team to “Knock the Puck out of Breast Cancer”
--Game night promotion to raise funds for vital patient support programs--
Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. (January 9, 2011) – Woman2Woman Breast Cancer Foundation (W2W) today announced the launch of its “Knock the Puck Out of Breast Cancer” Challenge® at the National Hockey League's Florida Panthers game. During the game on Monday, January 9th, 7:30 PM at Bank Atlantic Center, fans can purchase raffle tickets to support W2W’s patient programs. 100% of proceeds will fund the non-profit’s ongoing initiatives to prevent and detect breast cancer, as well as programs that provide medical treatment and financial assistance to women in need.
“Thanks to early detection and treatment, there are more than 2½ million breast cancer survivors in the United States. But that’s not good enough,” said Jacqueline Gray, CEO of Woman 2 Woman Breast Cancer Foundation. “We hope the name of this campaign communicates how aggressively W2W is working to improve survival rates. Through the purchase of a raffle ticket on Monday night, Panther fans can join in our fight to help women survive and live with confidence in the face of this horrible disease.”

Founded in 2007, W2W serves women of varying ages and stages of cancer in cities including Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston and Miami among others. Comprehensive programs include education and early detection through free testing, as well as medical and financial aid to women who are unable to work full-time during treatment.
“Last year, more than 230,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 lives were lost to the disease,” Mrs. Gray added. “In spite of these alarming statistics, we believe that every patient deserves to lead a fulfilling, productive life as she fights back to health. W2W is grateful to Panther fans who support our ability to make a difference and ensure that no woman faces breast cancer alone.”
In addition to purchasing raffle tickets on Monday, January 9, donations can also be made on the Foundation’s secure Web site W2WBCF.org or through employee giving programs, such as those administered by the United Way.
