Calling all chocolate lovers! With only two days to go before this year’s York Chocolate Festival takes to the streets of York (3-6 April), here’s where you’ll find some of the city’s most indulgent chocolate hot spots:

  • York Cocoa House has a superb menu of chocolate-themed goodies, from scones to fondue, freshly prepared by top chocolatiers. Blake Street, York

  • York’s Chocolate Story has a café on the ground floor with a host of delicious treats, served with chocolates created on-site by its own chocolatiers. King’s Square, York

  • Bettys Café Tea Rooms has a fantastic reputation for afternoon tea, but its chocolate cake is a superb not-to-be-missed treat! St Helen’s Square, York

  • Goddards, the tea room at the family home of Noel Goddard Terry, owner of Terry’s of York Tadcaster Road, York

  • Pig & Pastry, home to gourmet hot chocolate and home-made milkshakes Bishopthorpe Road, York

  • Grey’s Court is a boutique hotel nestled between York Minster and the city walls, and serves a stunning rich chocolate and mint cheesecake with strawberry mousse in its restaurant. Chapter House Street, York
