1.    The Iroquois Alliance

a.     Formation of new volunteer support group

b.     Led by Deborah Lovett, President, and an advisory board of community leaders

 

2.    Jockey Club Concert featuring major artists

a.     May 13, the night before the race, in the Paddock Club area at the Steeplechase Grounds

b.     Second year for the party; first year it features a concert

c.      Artists performing were nominated for several 2010 awards from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music

 

3.    The Iroquois Young Professional Mixer

a.     March 3, Ruth’s Chris Steak House

b.     Sponsored by the Iroquois Alliance

c.      Introducing tomorrow’s civic and business leaders to the community leadership behind the Iroquois

 

4.    LookBook Fashion Show

a.     April 14, Belle Meade Plantation

b.     Featuring models and clothes from the 2011 Iroquois Steeplechase LookBook

 

5.    Iroquois Alliance Fall Event

a.     September 22, Belle Meade Plantation

b.     Planning is underway

c.      The Alliance plans to host three events a year


6.    The Meadows Raffle

a.     Raffle for a 2012 tailgating spot in The Meadows

b.     The Meadows is the most sought-after tailgating area – featuring a prime location in the first turn and the largest tailgating space: 20’ x 27’ instead of the normal 13’ x 18’

c.      $50 raffle tickets will be sold on The Iroquois Steeplechase web site and at pre-race events

 

7.    Shoppes at Iroquois Village

a.     Shopping booths under a large tent near Hospitality Village

b.     Selling clothing, art, jewelry and other items, many with an equestrian theme

 

8.    The Iroquois Horse Art Auction

a.     Local artists and celebrities, including the 2011 Iroquois Steeplechase Child Ambassador, are painting table centerpiece-size wooden horses for sale

b.     Will be sold via online auction, May 1 through 13

c.      And at the Jockey Club Party, May 13

 

9.    Paparazzi Pavilion

a.     Photo booths in the infield and near the box seats for race goers to commemorate the day with a special staged photo for just $5

b.     Booths will be stocked with race apparel, such as festive hats, and fun backdrops

c.      Photos will be immediately printed on-site

 

10. VIP Comfort Stations

a.     Conveniently located in three areas in the infield, climate-controlled facilities feature flush toilets, running water and inviting décor, including a full-size mirror for midday appearance adjustments

b.     $15 per person in advance, $20 day of – receive wristband

c.      Limiting number of wristbands sold so the facilities are not overcrowded

 

11. New Infield Activities

a.     We are finalizing plans for new infield activities that make the race day experience more fun and engaging 

 

12. And, of course, as always:

a.     The Iroquois has the largest purse of any National Steeplechase Association spring event

b.     So we always attract the best horses and riders in the country
