Major wedding showcase just weeks away - with tipis, live music and catwalk shows on the agenda

Hotel designed by world famous architect will be at the centre of event

ONE of the UK’s top hotel wedding venues has announced the dates for its much anticipated Big Wedding Showcase.

The biannual event - the biggest hotel-based fair in the North West - attracts thousands of attendees and will involve upwards of 40 exhibitors, is to be held on April 18th and 19th, 2020.

The venue will be the majestic Abbey House Hotel and Gardens which is the six-time winner of Cumbria’s best wedding venue and was designed by the revered architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens.

Among the major names to have confirmed their attendance are florists to the stars, Red Floral Architecture and Bash Parties and Events - the company behind Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon’s recent leaving party.

And one very lucky couple who attend the event will WIN an amazing Tipi Wedding, to be held in the stunning grounds of the hotel in 2021.

The event is being organised by Yasmin Platt, the hotel’s Marketing and Promotions Manager.

She said: “The Big Wedding Showcase proved to be a huge success when it was held for the first time in 2018 and the feedback we got from both exhibitors and people who attended on the day was really positive.

“I'm delighted we have some fantastic exhibitors who have committed to the two days and I’m sure anyone thinking of attending will have a fantastic time.”

The hotel’s Great Hall, where wedding ceremonies are held, will be dressed by Red Floral, while main function room, the Cavendish Suite, will be set up for a wedding breakfast

In the beautiful grounds will be two marquees from which all exhibitors will be based, and a tipi where there will be live music and a catwalk.

A selection of the hotel’s accommodation suites will also be open for viewing.

There are still opportunities for exhibitors to get involved, but space is now limited due to the early take-up of stands.
