'Masks with morals' strike a chord with the public

A FACE mask fashion brand which has pledged to give 25 per cent of all its profits to three charities has seen a huge surge in demand.

Sales at Pucker are increasing by triple digit percentages every week, as the public clamour to get their hands on one of their UK made masks following new government legislation.
They are individually produced by a growing team of seamstresses who had otherwise been struggling for income due to Covid-19.

Pucker co-director, Nik Higgins, said: 'The whole team is delighted with how sales are going. We're currently seeing a significant spike in demand for our masks.

“More sales are great, but ultimately we're most proud of the fact that this increase means that we can provide more living wage employment for our seamstresses and, ultimately, raise more money for our partner charities - particularly at a time when donations have taken a hit.

“For us, more people wearing Puckers simply means we can do more social good. That's a hugely inspiring feeling, and I suspect it is one of the reasons people are proving to be so keen to snap a Pucker up”

From Monday 15 June everyone must wear a face covering when travelling by public transport in England.

Under the new rules, operators will be able to prevent passengers who refuse to follow the rules from travelling and police will be able to issue fines of £100

Pucker produces easy-on-the-eye face masks which allow Covid-conscious members of the public to breathe a little easier as they go about their daily lives, while raising cash for charity.

UK-produced by professional seamstresses who have suffered financial hardship as a result of strict lockdown measures, preorders of the masks have been strong.

The launch ranges are called the Minimalist, Summer Breeze and Big Juicy collections.

Every mask is handmade in the UK from three layers of high-quality, breathable cotton. They have a shaped nose and chin, adjustable nose bridge and ear toggles to provide a top-of-the-range fit. The masks also have a pocket into which a range of common particulate filters can be inserted, should the proud Pucker owner so wish.
