Parkside School is crowned the 2009 IAP Six-a-Side Champions

Parkside School, the successful boys’ prep school in Stoke D’Abernon, is celebrating its fantastic win at the IAPS Six-a-Side National Championships last month. The school’s 1st XI team won all five of its games before going on to beat Moulsford School 3-0 in the semi-final. The team then stormed to victory in the final beating Chigwell 3-0. Parkside impressed their fellow teams and spectators throughout the finals, with 26 goals from their 7 games played during the day. Renny Smith, Parkside’s captain scored 15 times and was ably assisted by Oliver Haines, with goalkeeper Oskar Kolk making some excellent saves in the difficult weather conditions. The school is exceptionally proud of the team and passes on its congratulations to all the boys, who showed excellent team work throughout the day. Parkside has an outstanding sporting record and, over the last few years has won many tournaments across a range of sports. The main sports are football, hockey, and cricket, with the opportunity to take part in rugby, swimming, athletics, tennis, basketball, judo, golf and cross-country running. ENDS
