Bracknell, UK, 23 July 2013 – Diversified technology company 3M has announced the winner of the FESPA Wrap Cup Masters Series Grand Final 2013, for which it was a first-time main sponsor. Piotr Ciński of Polish wrapping specialists Pentagraf did battle with the best wrappers from around the world in front of a star-studded line-up of car wrapping experts at the concluding event at this year’s FESPA exhibition to emerge as the undisputed world champion.

Piotr Ciński 4 Star 3M Endorsed Vehicle Graphics Installer and twice winner of the Polish Car Wrap Championship, commented on his London victory: “Winning the title of World Champion in Car Wrapping was a dream come true.  It was a pleasure and honour to compete side by side with the best installers from all around the world.  I would like to thank the competitors, judges, sponsors and all those involved in making the event happen. But mostly I would like to thank my wife and friends who had faith in me and were supporting me in London. To all the people that are considering vehicle wrapping I would like to say one thing – just do it! Don’t be afraid to wrap your car. If you don’t like the result it can easily be changed, without damaging the paint. And that’s the best thing about wrapping – you can change the colour of your car as often as some women like to change the colour of their nails.”

Over the course of the competition, Wrap Cup Masters Series contenders demonstrated their talents by wrapping four MINI Countryman cars using Controltac Graphic Film IJ180-10Cv3 and Car Wrap Film Series 1080 from 3M. Both films are widely used for bespoke printed and colour-change vehicle graphics.

“Thank you to Piotr and all the competitors for a truly fantastic display of vinyl mastery,” said Neil Brown, New Business Development Manager, Europe, 3M Display and Graphics. “Watching them in action demonstrated the level of technical skill, knowledge and experience required, but, most significantly, it showed just how much of an art form wrapping has become.”

The FESPA Wrap Cup Masters Series was a compilation of eight events at different geographical locations spanning a three-year period and culminating in the Grand Final at ExCeL London at the end of June. The initiative was designed to encourage, recognise and promote excellence in the vehicle wrapping community and to enable car wrappers from around the world to hone their skills within a live competitive environment whilst gaining global recognition as the best of the best in this burgeoning market sector.

Duncan MacOwan, Head of Events and New Media at FESPA, said, “We at FESPA are delighted to have organised the FESPA Wrap Masters Series to find the best vehicle wrapper in the world. For any business or private car owner looking to make a mark with their fleet or top marque vehicle, this is an exciting time. Vehicle wraps can add a whole new dimension to company branding and can address all kinds of bespoke printed or colour change needs. For those not based in Poland - where the world's best vehicle wrapper plies his craft - FESPA's partner in the Wrap Masters Series - 3M – has a large network of reliable wrappers with the capability to design and apply 3M wraps to exact requirements.”
