Since its first release more than 30 years ago, the Flexible Pipe Handbook has been a cornerstone reference for safe and efficient subsea operations.
Now, 4Subsea, SINTEF, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), and four leading operators have joined forces to update the handbook - incorporating new knowledge on materials, analysis tools, and integrity management methods developed over the past decade.
The new edition will align with the API 17B/J revision (2024) and provide updated guidance on fatigue modelling, corrosion mechanisms, and lifetime extension.
The work will be finalised by late 2026, ensuring the handbook remains a trusted and openly available resource for the entire industry.
