Marketing guru and owner of QBallyhoo, Drew Llewellyn, recognises that being a champion hammer thrower takes strength, skill and precision. Drew, who is a former South West Colleges’ Champion Thrower, is not only a successful sportswoman, but also a thriving business woman with her company, QBallyhoo, recently celebrating its second anniversary at the South West based networking organisation SWIRE. Drew explained to businesses how she feels it is important to “hammer home” another message. “Social media like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter are becoming increasingly important as part of the marketing mix and businesses who are trying to ignore these 21st century methods of communication and marketing do so at their peril,” Drew said. With this in mind, Drew announced a new service for businesses wanting to keep up to date with social media. QBallyhoo has developed three different solutions for businesses to maximise Twitter alongside their more traditional marketing materials. Drew explains, “The Chattering Classes subscription is a new service which allows us to plan and implement Twitter communications on your behalf with links to your website/blog and Twitter account. This widens the power of word of mouth, and can fit with your existing marketing activities. We have also developed the Chattering Classes Mentoring Programme which guides you on how to set up your own Twitter account, brand it, implement your Tweet communications plan and track marketing progress and effectiveness. Alternatively with our Twitter Account Management Plan, we can run your whole Twitter account for you on your behalf.” A Chartered Marketer and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Drew has not completely abandoned her hammer throwing days, still taking part as a veteran member of the YOAC. She also volunteers some of her time helping Yeovil Olympiads Athletic Club with its marketing and communications and urges others to join her at YOAC which is run by volunteers who want to give something back to the community. Drew commented, “I want to show the Club that just as a successful hammer thrower uses strength and precision, the development of a strong and skilful message and its dissemination through all the channels open to us is essential in the growth of a brand and even more so in the sporting community – particularly when the prize of the 2012 Olympics is only a couple of years away. “ Further details: QBallyhoo, Tel 01305 257132 or email: dsl@qballyhoo.com or visit: www.qballyhoo.com Press information: Jane Adkins, A Head for PR, Tel: 01935 813114 or email jane@aheadforpr.co.uk
