Racing returns to Exeter with the launch of new modelling competition and free entry for students

Exeter Racecourse has joined forces with Somerset-based clothing company Henry Hunt for the launch of the new season on Thursday, October 7. Henry Hunt’s founders, sisters Phoebe and Hannah Garlick, are teaming up with the racecourse to launch the new Face of Exeter competition. The two winners, male and female, will feature in the forthcoming autumn/winter 2011 catalogue as well as on all Exeter‘s associated literature. Henry Hunt has a unique take on quintessential English clothing, which appeals to the younger type of market who want limited edition items, and is eating into the burgeoning market share this type of clothing attracts. The new campaign sits well with Exeter’s drive to encourage more students from the region to come racing with its student-free race days on Thursday, October 7 and March 22 as well as discounted entry of just £6 per grandstand and paddock tickets on its other racedays. Designer Phoebe, 21, said: “Student racegoers at Exeter fit well with our brand. It is such a lovely track renowned for its association with some of the country’s best horses and Exeter University fits our image. It’s all part of the lifestyle statement our clothes make, racing is the right image for us and we are very excited about our new association.” Sponsorship and hospitality manager Alice Everitt added: “We are really pleased with our new association with Henry Hunt.
