Fans of the long running and much loved BBC Radio 4 Series, The Archers, will be able to enjoy a slice of real Ambridge life when June Spencer, aka Peggy Archer/Woolley appears at the Appledore Book Festival this weekend (2 October) in North Devon. June Spencer, aka Peggy Archer/Woolley, the only original cast member of the longest running radio soap, will be talking about her life and her new book, The Road to Ambridge. June will appear with BBC Radio Devon’s Judi Spiers in what is likely to be a moving interview as apart from memories of 'the slower pace of childhood' and WW2, she will talk with Judi about her husband's decline into Alzheimer's disease which is mirrored as a story line with her fictional husband in The Archers. Tickets available online www.appledorebookfestival.co.uk or from the Box Office, tel: 01237 424 949 for instructions.
