Stockholm, Thursday 20th of May  - A.S.Helsingö, a Finnish design company known for its versatile and designer-created kitchen and storage solutions, opens a showroom in central Stockholm. The showroom is the company’s next step towards making well-designed interior design solutions accessible around the world.

Occupying an airy location in central Stockholm on Birger Jarlsgatan 71, the showroom is a harmonious and home-like space that consists of four rooms that showcase the brand’s designer-created home collections. It is a new step in the company’s mission to democratise good design: the showroom is the brand’s second physical location that follows in the footsteps of an existing and established showroom in Helsinki. It brings the brand to life by allowing customers in Stockholm to experience the brand harmoniously and holistically and supplements A.S.Helsingö’s online store that delivers to over 20 countries globally.

A mission to democratise the home improvement industry

A.S.Helsingö was founded on the belief that everyone deserves the joy of a beautiful, unique home — for an affordable price tag. The designer-led company follows in the footsteps of Artek, a pioneer of Finnish modernism of the 1930s, and marries contemporary technology, design and architecture to bring well-designed interiors to everyone. A.S.Helsingö’s solution’s uniqueness lies in its versatility and affordability: artificial intelligence, 3D technology and a state-of-the-art digital platform enable the company to offer designer products at a reasonable price point all over the world.

Combining bespoke, handmade designer products with IKEA cabinet frames is A.S.Helsingö’s answer to a demand for affordable, yet beautiful alternatives to traditional home improvement solutions. “Today, design kitchens are way too expensive. They cost more than my car,” states Sebastian Schauman, CEO and founder of A.S.Helsingö. “By rethinking the traditional ways of the industry, we give everyone the chance to build beautiful and welcoming homes that aren’t dependent on the thickness of one’s wallet.”

More homes with a soul

A.S.Helsingö is on a mission to help people create timeless, beautiful interiors that have a soul. While kitchens and wardrobes are an important part of the home, they are often visually forgotten — a missed opportunity in a world in which homes should be our safe havens that mirror our unique personalities. The brand nurtures close collaboration with architects, designers and artists to offer carefully created collections that mesh seamlessly with different architectural eras. “We want to offer everyone a chance to create homes that reflect their personality and honour the architecture of their space”, says Ilona Palmunen, the creative director of A.S.Helsingö.

In A.S.Helsingö’s kitchens, wardrobes and sideboards, contemporary design meets an appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and different architectural eras: The products are made to order using traditional methods and genuine materials from the Finnish Lake District in a factory renowned for its high-quality woodwork over several generations. The collections’ elegant colour palettes mimic the light of the archipelagos of the Baltic Sea and the delicate, muted hues found only in the northern latitudes.
