Christmas Tree Giveaway

A World of Furniture is currently offering a baby Christmas tree to all customers who visit their Salisbury, Southampton, Poole or Blandford stores. The trees are 6 inch saplings and one is allowed per customer. No purchase is necessary.

The Christmas tree giveaway is now in its third year. “We started it because as a furniture store we know how important trees are and everyone loves a real tree at Christmas,” says Mark Hotson, owner of A World of Furniture. “We also wanted to spread a bit of Christmas cheer... If kept in a pot in the garden the tree can be bought in over the Christmas period and then put outside again ready for next year.’’

The trees are Norway Spruce and should grow to a height of 6’ in 6 years. They are particularly hardy and need minimal care. As it photosynthesises, each tree will absorb carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that needs to be reduced from our atmosphere, and they will release oxygen as a by-product of this process

The tree giveaway also ties in with the environmental ethos of the company. For every piece of furniture they sell A World of Furniture pledge to plant a tree and they have been doing this since 2008. In November 2011, more than 50,000 trees had been planted in local woodlands.
