A Legacy of Autism Book Awards
AAPC has offered practical solutions that translate research into practice for over 15 years. AAPC books are written and published to support individuals on the autism spectrum, their parents, families, peers, educators and other professionals.
Since 2006, AAPC has received over 50 awards in recognition of the quality and importance of its books.
Recently, AAPC books have been recognized as winners for The National Parenting Publications Awards and the Mom’s Choice Awards.
The National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) is one of the most respected and longest running awards programs in the United States today. With 25 years of experience in the industry, NAPPA has been continuously celebrated as the "go-to" source for parents and professionals seeking the best products for their children and families.
Four AAPC releases have been selected as NAPPA Award winners:
- TIPS: Teaching Important Parenting Strategies, Raising a Child With Limited Verbal Skills, by Megan Ahlers, MS, and Colleen Zillich, MS, CCC-SLP
- Rules and Tools for Parenting Children With Autism and Related Disorders: Changing Behavior One Step at a Time, by Judith Coucouvanis, MA, PMHCNS-BC
- Sensory Issues and High-Functioning Autism Spectrum and Related Disorders, Practical Solutions for Making Sense of the World, by Brenda Smith Myles, PhD, Kelly Mahler, MS, OTR/L, and Lisa Robbins, PhD
The Mom’s Choice Awards is a globally recognized program for establishing the benchmark of excellence in family-friendly media, products and services. These products and services are evaluated by a respected panel of judges bound by a strict code of ethics. This award ensures expert and objective analysis of elements including production quality, design, educational value, entertainment value, originality, appeal and cost.
Last year, AAPC won Mom’s Choice Awards for excellence for two books:
