AB Vista will present new research into the use of phytase and NSP enzymes in combination at the upcoming European Symposium on Poultry and Nutrition (ESPN) congress in Prague, August 24-28.

The company, which is a silver sponsor of the ESPN, will present three posters highlighting the latest research into using phytase and xylanase in combination, and the effect of NSP enzymes on bird performance.

Imke Kuhn will present: ‘The effect of dietary feed structure, phytase and xylanase application on broiler performance’ – research into adding Econase XT to broiler diets, with or without whole wheat included in the pellets, and associated improved performance, either at normal level of phytase or with Quantum Blue superdosing.

Carrie Walk will present: ‘Composite analysis of ten broiler trials evaluating standard and superdoses of a microbial phytase in the presence or absence of a xylanase’- an analysis of trials from around the world showing that both Quantum Blue superdosing and Econase XT addition independently improve broiler performance.

Rob ten Doeschate will present: ‘Effect of different NSP-degrading enzyme products in two diet types on gut parameters and broiler performance’ - this research includes a comparative study of five NSP enzyme products, where three xylanase-based products had an effect on gut parameters indicating more caecal fermentation, whilst Econase XT was the only NSP product to significantly improve feed conversion rate in both a simple and complex diet.

Rob ten Doeschate, Technical Director, EMEA, says such research into NSP enzymes, and their interaction with phytases, has long been a focus for AB Vista.

“We are committed to understanding the properties of enzymes and their effects on animal performance; it’s one of the reasons we convened the industry’s first International Non-Starch Polysaccharide Forum last year, Inspire, which has prompted further NSP enzyme research projects and partnerships.”

The symposium’s poster discussion sessions will run on August 25, 18:00-19:00, and August 26, 14:00-15:30.

AB Vista welcomes delegates to learn more on Stand 16, where the company will provide detailed information on its products and unique services.
