60 new Volvo 7000 articulated buses to Geneva

60 NEW VOLVO 7000 ARTICULATED BUSES TO GENEVA Swiss bus operator TPG - Transports Publics Genevois - has placed an order to buy 60 Volvo 7000 articulated buses. They are of a low-floor city bus design equipped according to the customer's specification. The agreement includes an option for another 20 buses of the same type. Geneva's city bus operator TPG - Transports Publics Genevois - has placed an order for 60 of the new Volvo 7000 articulated buses. The Volvo 7000 is a new low-floor city bus that was unveiled for the first time last year. The body is made of stainless steel and the engine is the new 7-litre D7C with a power rating at 310 hp (228kW). The buses going to Geneva will be equipped with the Volvo exhaust filter. The buses have 54 seats and they have a total capacity of 150 people including standing passengers. Production of the buses will take place in Poland. In the evaluation process leading to the final decision by TPG, Volvo was chosen from among four other city bus makers. TPG has prior experience of Volvo, running 25 Volvo B10M articulated buses since 1986.
