Volvo Aero’s Executive Vice President and CFO, Lars Thorén, will assume a comparable position on September 1 at Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks in the US.

Lars Thorén joined Volvo Aero as a newly graduated economist in 1976, when he began his career in the finance department. Since then he has held a number of various assignments, including positions in marketing and within strategy and business development. He was appointed CFO in 2000 and has been Executive Vice President since 2001. Lars Thorén will assume similar duties for Volvo Trucks in Greensboro, North Carolina, and for Mack Trucks in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He will move to Greensboro with his family in August. “Lars has been employed at Volvo Aero for 28 years and over time has become a key person, with extensive knowledge, high integrity and exceptionally high work capacity. He is appreciated throughout the company and this is unquestionably a loss that he is leaving Volvo Aero. At the same time, we can only congratulate him and Volvo Trucks North America. We wish him the best of luck in Greensboro,” says Volvo Aero’s President, Fred Bodin. Until Lars Thorén’s successor is appointed, Roland Johansson, Manager Accounting/Treasurer, will be the acting manager. Lars Thorén succeeds Rune Alsterholm, who has worked for Volvo’s North American truck operations for eight years and who is now returning to AB Volvo’s head office in Göteborg. July 1, 2005
