New achievements for WirelessCar AB Gothenburg, Sweden - Oct 5, 2004 - WirelessCar AB today announced that they act as the back-end systems operator for Volvo Trucks Dynafleet Online in Europe Volvo Pentas SeyKey services in North America and BMW's newly launched BMW ConnectedDrive concept in the Middle East. The ConnectedDrive concept consists of BMW Assist and BMW Online that from March also are available in Dubai, initially in the new 5, 6 and 7 Series. BMW Assist, a new emergency and SOS service that gives drivers, for the first time in the Middle East, a direct voice link together with localization data, to a Dubai Police Emergency Center if something unforeseen happens. The Assist service is available in most BMW models. BMW Online is a customer portal that offers E-mail services in the car. Users will be able to read and reply to their E-mails using the BMW Online portal, accessed through the BMW Professional Navigation system and built-in car telephone. Messages can be displayed either on the cockpit navigation screen, on the Internet using a standard web browser or on a WAP compatible mobile phone. Dynafleet Online is a vehicle management system that keeps vital truck information in one location on the Internet. Clear communication and accessible information make it easier for Volvo Trucks customers to make the right decisions at the right time. Decisions that will keep them one step ahead of their competitors. Dynafleet consists of three parts: - Vehicle Management - Transport Management - Driver Management Dynafleet Online is a new web-based service that permits easy vehicle and driver follow up directly on the web. The recently released and improved version contains new features in messaging, positioning and tracking. SeaKey is a satellite-based communications network that is offered by Volvo Penta NA to their customers. When installed onboard, the system will connect the boat and its crew to a call centre, which will allow constant communication with the mainland. From home, family members will be able to track the movements of their loved ones on the boat via the Internet; through GPS technology, the U.S. Coast Guard will be able to quickly track down and locate errant craft; and boat owners will be able to continually monitor the security of their boat from miles away.
