New Volvo structure in Morocco

NEW VOLVO STRUCTURE IN MOROCCO Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses have together with Volvo's importer in the country, Saida Star Auto decided to establish a new structure in the Moroccan market. The first step consists of the creation of a separate unit within Saida Star Auto responsible for all commercial activities related to the Volvo Truck and st Bus operations in the market. This will take place on October 1 , 1999. All the Volvo commercial activities will within short be moved to a new and specialized location in Casablanca. The assembly of Volvo truck and bus chassis as well as bus bodies will remain at the Saida Star Auto factory premises. Volvo has been active in Morocco for more than 44 years, involving sales as well as local assembly of trucks and buses. With annual sales of about 400 trucks and a market share of some 40%, Volvo dominates the market for heavy trucks in Morocco. Volvo's sales of buses in Morocco amount to about 100 buses per year.
