Smart societies of the future in focus at the next Volvo Group Innovation Summit
With a focus on automation, electromobility and connectivity, Volvo Group will host its third Innovation Summit in Beijing on November 15, following successful events in London and Brussels earlier this year. Moderated by Peter Campbell, the Financial Times’ industry correspondent, the event will gather top policy makers and stakeholders to examine the role these three innovation technologies will play in transforming the societies of tomorrow.
“In the next decade, we will see a continued great shift from rural to urban areas in Asia, and cities will be facing increasing social as well as environmental challenges. By bringing together key stakeholders in the region, this summit aims to help maintain momentum in the development of future sustainable solutions and collaborations in infrastructure and transport. At Volvo Group, by focusing on what we see as three key technology areas - automation, electromobility and connectivity -we aim to contribute to safety and productivity gains as well as environmental sustainability, which will have greatly positive impacts for societies,” says Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO at Volvo Group.
The Innovation Summit is designed to further the debate. Speakers at the event include Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO at Volvo Group and Lars Stenqvist, Chief Technology Officer at Volvo Group, together with officials and experts from the government, associations and academia.
The Volvo Group will also demonstrate one of its latest innovations in research and development, an autonomous truck for hub-to-hub transportation as well as showcase a model of the electric site.
The Volvo Group Innovation Summit will be held on November 15, 2017 at the Tank, 751 D Park, No.4 Jiuxianqiao Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing, P.R.C, 100015 and runs from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm.
