Volvo

Deliveries of Volvo branded trucks in August decreased by 6% to 7,149 vehicles compared with the same month last year.

In Europe, deliveries increased by 29% to 2,306 trucks as an effect of the good demand during the spring. However, the current slowdown in economic activity and uncertainty about the future business climate in the region is clearly having a negative impact on demand for trucks. The weakening in market conditions in Southern Europe and France continues and is also spreading across parts of Europe.

In Asia deliveries during August amounted to 753 units, an increase of 4% compared with the same month the previous year. Most markets in Asia contributed to the positive development.

August deliveries in North America decreased 17% to 1,745 vehicles in comparison with the same month last year. Fewer production days this August contributed to the decrease.

August deliveries in South America for Volvo Trucks decreased by 19% to 1,992 trucks compared with August 2011. The slowdown in the Brazilian economy is the main driver behind the decrease.

Renault Trucks

In August, 2,871 Renault Trucks branded trucks were delivered, a decline of 4% compared to the year-earlier month, driven by a decline in deliveries of light-duty trucks.

In Renault Trucks' main market, Europe, deliveries declined by 3%.
