Volvo

Deliveries of Volvo branded trucks in July increased by 2% to 8,303 vehicles compared to the same period last year. The deliveries in Western Europe declined by 19%. The slow macro-economic development and uncertainty about the future business climate is affecting demand. In Russia and Turkey demand continues to be on good levels.

July deliveries in North America increased 46% to 2,380 vehicles in comparison with the same month last year. More production days this July, as well as fewer supplier disruptions, contributed to the increase.

July deliveries in South America for Volvo Trucks decreased 32% to 1,424 trucks compared with July 2011. The transmission to new emissions regulations mandating the need for Euro V technology, as well as the economic slowdown in Brazil, continue to negatively impact demand.

Mack

Deliveries for Mack in July totaled 2,292 vehicles, a 113% increase compared with July 2011. The increase is attributable, in part to the timing of demand from key accounts and more production days this July, as well as the continued positive customer response to Mack’s well performing powertrain components and on-highway trucks in general.
