VOLVO GLOBAL TRUCKS DELIVERIES AS OF FEBRUARY 2001 Deliveries from Volvo Global Trucks through February 2001 amounted to 26 017 trucks compared to pro forma 27 925 trucks last year (-7%). Compared to the same period last year total order intake was down 13%, whereof North America was down 18% and Europe 7%. All segments, including the vocational, are now affected by the continuing downturn in the North American market. "We are continuously adapting the capacity to the market changes, in order to avoid inventory build-up", comment Tryggve Stehn, president Volvo Global Trucks. "We are also beginning to see a downturn in the central part of Europe while demand in eastern Europe continues to be strong". Deliveries from Mack Trucks, Inc. through February 2001 totaled 4,152 vehicles, down 37 percent from the 6,579 units delivered during the same period last year. Renault V.I Deliveries from Renault V.I. through February 2001 amounted to 10 424 trucks. The increase in deliveries is mainly due to light and medium trucks. In Western Europe, deliveries show an increase of 5% compared to last year, mainly due to strong deliveries in Southern Europe. Volvo Truck Corporation Deliveries from Volvo Trucks through February amounted to 11 441 trucks.
