Volvo Group secures central role in Swedish-Chinese road safety research

At a ceremony held in Beijing, China, on May 28, the governments of Sweden and China signed a letter of intent to expand their cooperation in the area of road safety.

The cooperation will take the form of a Swedish-Chinese research center located in Beijing that will carry out activities in both China and Sweden, and in which the Volvo Group will be a partner.

“We are proud to have been selected as a partner at this research center”, says Jan-Eric Sundgren, Executive Vice President Public & Environmental Affairs. “It shows that we are considered to be a leader in vehicle and road safety.”

The role of the Volvo Group will be to conduct research into the causes of traffic accidents and driver behavior patterns in China.
