Volvo to acquire shares in Henlys

VOLVO TO ACQUIRE SHARES IN HENLYS Volvo intends to acquire approximately 10 percent of the shares in Henlys Group plc. The shares will be bought on the London Stock Exchange. The final number of shares to be acquired will depend on market conditions. The acquisition is made to reinforce the industrial and commercial cooperation that already exists between the two companies. Henlys is a leading manufacturer and supplier of coach and bus bodies to the UK market with a total turnover during 1997 of GBP 242 M. Henlys has currently a market capitalization of approximately GBP 320 M (SEK 4 billion). Volvo and Henlys are the shareholders of Prévost in Canada which also owns Nova Bus in USA. Volvo and Henlys also cooperate in Great Britain and South East Asia on a commercial basis. August 10, 1998
