VOLVO TRUCKS' DELIVERIES JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2000 Volvo Trucks' deliveries during January - February 2000 amounted to a total of 11,317 units. Sales showed the following distribution: 1999 2000 % Europe, totally 6,871 6,529 -5 of which Western Europe 6,538 6,100 -7 Eastern Europe 333 429 +29 North America 4,860 3,739 -23 South America 598 487 -19 Asia 263 374 +42 Other markets 179 188 +5 Total 12,771 11,317 -11 During January and February, the demand for heavy trucks in Western Europe was continuously strong, and Eastern Europe increased from a low level. The truck market in North America has temporarily declined due to earlier over-production and is now undergoing an adjustment, leading to decreased production in general. Volvo Trucks' deliveries in Europe decreased by 5 % compared with the very high delivery rate during the same period in 1999. In January, Volvo's truck production in North America was reduced as an adjustment to the present market situation. At the beginning of the year, Volvo Trucks' order intake was very good despite a certain decrease in North America. The order intake totally has increased somewhat since the turn of the year.
