VOLVO TRUCKS' DELIVERIES JANUARY-OCTOBER 1999 Volvo Trucks' deliveries up to October 1999 recorded a total of 70,000 units. Sales showed the following distribution: 1998 1999 % Europe, total 33,806 34,333 +2 of which Western Europe 30,481 32,105 +5 Eastern Europe 3,325 2,228 -33 North America 24,412 29,106 +19 South America 5,378 3,133 -42 Asia 3,266 2,058 -37 Other markets 1,558 1,370 -12 Total 68,420 70,000 +2 The deliveries from Volvo Trucks up to October increased totally by two per cent compared with the same period in 1998. The continuous strong delivery increase in North America was possible by expansion of the production capacity in the factory in New River Valley, Virginia, to an annual rate of 38,000 units.
