Volvo Trucks deliveries January-October 2000

VOLVO TRUCKS DELIVERIES, JANUARY-OCTOBER 2000 Deliveries from Volvo Trucks between January and October 2000 totalled 65 771 trucks, distributed as follows: 1999 2000 Europe, total 34,333 36,475 +6 of which Western 32,105 33,357 +4 Europe Eastern 2,228 3,118 +40 Europe North America 29,106 19,653 -32 South America 3,133 3,677 +17 Asia 2,058 4,406 +11 Other markets 1,370 1,560 +144 Total 70,000 65,771 -6 Deliveries from Volvo Trucks decreased by 6 percent up to the end of October. This reduction is a result of the situation in North America, where Volvo's deliveries shrank by 32 percent. Excluding North America, deliveries increased by 13 percent. The demand in Asia continues to be strong. In South America, there is an increase in Brazil and Chile, while the other markets in the region display continued low demand. The total Volvo Trucks order intake up to the end of October decreased by 5 percent compared with the same period last year.
