Volvo Trucks receives order for 281 trucks from Sainsbury's Volvo Trucks in the UK has received an order for 281 trucks from the Sainsbury's food retailer chain. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2004. Sainsbury's is one of the leading food retailer chains in the UK, with more than 500 stores and 145,000 employees. The current order comprises Volvo FM12 tractor trucks powered by 380- and 420-hp engines and Volvo FM9 flatbed trucks with 300-hp engines. In addition, six 200-hp Volvo FL models are included in the order. The UK is Volvo Trucks' second largest market worldwide. In 2002, it sold 6,095 vehicles on the British market.
