    Major bus order for Volvo in Mexico

    Volvo Buses has secured an order for 323 coaches in Mexico. Most of these will be delivered in 2010.Mexico is a large country and, with poorly developed rail traffic, the coach is the most important means of transport for long journeys. For Volvo Buses, Mexico is one of the largest markets in the world. The order for 323 coaches is from the customer IAMSA, which has the largest bus fleet in Mexico, with about 10,000 buses and coaches, of which approximately 2,400 are Volvo coaches.     Ethiopian order to Volvo Trucks

    Volvo Trucks has signed an agreement to deliver trucks to Derba Cement in Ethiopia.     Volvo Trucks in India has secured an order for 125 trucks. It is the company’s largest order since being established in the country.Vijay Leasing Company in Hyderabad, India is the company purchasing 125 Volvo FM trucks. The trucks will be delivered in the summer of 2009 for use in coal and steel mines in southern India. Vijay Leasing Company already owns 108 Volvo trucks.     Volvo Buses has received order for 260 buses in India. Among these the city of Bangalore purchased an additional 140 Volvo 8400 city buses.The customer in Bangalore, BMTC, already operates more than 300 Volvo buses in Bangalore and these buses have radically changed the view of what it is like to travel with city buses in India.     Volvo Buses’ subsidiary Nova Bus has received an order for 410 city buses to Montreal in Canada. The order is valued at SEK 1.3 billion and deliveries will be made over three years beginning in 2009.The city transit corporation in Montreal, STM, has decided to continue to operate with the Nova LFS city bus model.
