Through Acando´s Microsoft based solution ProfitModeler, the occupational pension company Alecta will achieve better transparency in the follow-up of their product cost and IT efficiency.

Alecta manages occupational pensions on behalf of 1.7 million individuals and 30,000 client companies at low cost. The managed capital is about SEK 430 billion and the returns outperform the industry average. Acando´s role in the project has been to implement and integrate the solution for cost follow-up into Alecta´s Microsoft platform. In conjunction with Alecta´s replacement of their old business system in the autumn of 2009, an analysis of working methods and tools for follow-up of product cost and IT efficiency, was performed. After a shorter pre-study during the summer, Acando´s solution ProfitModeler was chosen. - Through Acando´s solution, ProfitModeler, Alecta will have a better system for cost analysis, which will render a better transparency in the follow-up of our product cost and IT efficiency. The model will offer good support in our analysis and increase the understanding of what drives costs for the respective product/IT service. With the new solution, we automate the complete process and get significantly shorter lead times for new analyses, says Ingela Malmström, Chief Controller, Alecta. - We are very proud of having been able to support Alecta in achieving a better follow-up of their product cost and IT efficiency. From now on, Alecta has a better foundation when making important decisions, which increase efficiency. The solution now in place, is really state of the art, says Kurt Rosander, responsible for the project at Acando. - The close co-operation between Alecta and Acando has been one of the most important success factors of the project, says Marie Olsén, Project Manager, Alecta.
