Highly specialized SAP team starts at Acando in Munich

In the fourth quarter of 2010, Acando GmbH expanded its SAP Production and Logistics offerings in the economic region southern Germany. A new team is supporting customers in the Manufacturing and Logistics industry. The service provider for integrated management and IT consultancy has thus strengthened its SAP business and doubled the number of employees at the Munich site.

The experts for distribution, production and warehouse logistics provide support for projects at renowned companies in the Automotive and Aviation industries. “I am very happy that we were able to expand this SAP expertise in our business area. This brings us even closer to meeting the needs of many customers and to achieving our aim to employ 100 consultants in southern Germany,” explains Thomas Lipka, Manager of the Acando Business Area South with sites in Munich, Frankfurt and Stuttgart.

Acando experts use their detailed knowledge of all processes for warehouse and production logistics to model business processes for customers and to implement these in SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and related solutions. ”We now cover all relevant areas for Logistics with our specialized SAP teams. We are just around the corner from our customers in the automotive industry in southern Germany and we provide immediate access to valuable specialized knowledge, like Just-in-Sequence control,” says Michael Mörchen, Managing Director of Acando GmbH with about 300 employees.

Current projects for the new team include linking an automated warehouse to SAP, accelerating warehouse processes by using mobile end devices and Just-in-Sequence solutions (JIS), where warehouse stocks are being reduced to a minimum without posing risks to the supply chain.
