Local martial arts gym benefits from building sponsorship

Kier Stoke is helping a local gym, T6 Elite, to get fighting fit ready for its official launch, scheduled for later this year, by providing it with the community spirited donations of vital materials and skilled labour that it has depended entirely upon to complete.

By teaming up with local businesses, Rowleys Electrical Distribution (RED) and Environmental Essentials, Kier Stoke has worked to ensure the Burslem martial arts gym will be safe and ready for local users.

Kier Stoke provided skilled labour to install £1,600 worth of electrical equipment donated by RED. It was also able to identify the need for Environmental Essentials to come and carry out a thorough asbestos survey at the property.

T6 Elite owner Dave Morgan said: “We’ve had to solely rely on sponsorship to get the premises up to standard, it is donations like these from Kier Stoke, RED and Environmental Essentials that have allowed us to provide such top notch facilities.

“We’re set to be the largest gym in the area providing a wide range of martial arts equipment, we also have an Octagon for ultimate fighting, sparing facilities and boxing rings. We are a social enterprise business which allows us to keep admission charges low too. We’re hoping to expand the business and set up in other areas once we’ve established ourselves in Stoke.”

Kier Stoke partnership manager, Mick Fallon, said: “When we were approached by the gym to provide the sponsorship it was apparent to see the good work this resource was already providing and the benefits it will bring to the area when completed. We are delighted to have been able to help provide such a great facility to the local community.”

The gym is currently open while the work continues. At present just one room remains unfinished and Dave hopes to secure a sponsorship so all is completed for the grand opening before Christmas.
