The acquisition is expected to take effect at the beginning of April. The Managing Director Roger Müller will keep a minor stake in the company. It is estimated that the acquisition will have a marginally positive effect on Addtech’s earnings per share during the next financial year.
Addtech has also decided to create a new business area named Automation to be effected as of April 1, 2019.
The business area Components has grown significantly during the last years, both organically and through acquisitions. One of the areas with the highest growth is automation. The companies in Components specialized in products and solutions for automation, robotics, sensor technology, industrial networks, embedded computers and datacom infrastructure will now be organized in the new business area Automation.
“This will benefit both business areas Components and Automation as they can better focus on their respective opportunities and enables further growth potential with our scalable business model”, says Niklas Stenberg, Addtech’s President and CEO. “The new business area clarifies our automation offering even better to our customers. Omni Ray will play an important part in this, as the acquisition means that we strenghten our position in the European automation market significantly”, Niklas Stenberg continues.
Patrik Klerck, who is appointed new Business Area Manager for Addtech Automation, adds:
“Automation is a growing field and Omni Ray will definitely bring further strength to Addtech as the go-to partner for automation solutions. We also see considerable synergies between Omni Ray and our Nordic and Benelux companies regarding technology know-how and supplier network”.
In Components, Addtech will continue to run its successful niche operations with customized solutions in the area of electronics, hydraulics and flow, mainly focused on OEM-applications in for example electronics industry, special vehicles and wind power. Martin Fassl will replace Patrik Klerck as Business Area Manager for Components. He has previously worked as Business Unit Manager for Components Sweden and has solid experience from the Addtech group.
Proforma figures for the new organisation with five business areas will be presented together with the Year-end report 1 April 2018 – 31 March 2019, published on May 15, 2019.
