Adera: Astrakan takes decision-support system into operation at Trebruk Adera-owned Astrakan recently completed a successful implementation of Trebruk's new decision-support system. Trebruk is one of Europe's leading industrial paper companies in the graphic fine papers segment, with brands that include Amber, Arctic and Munken. An important factor in Trebruk's selection of a partner for the implementation was that Astrakan and system supplier Cognos have an established relationship that has functioned smoothly for many years. Another factor that figured prominently was that Astrakan a few months previously had successfully implemented the system at Munkedal, which is one of the paper mills within the Trebruk Group. "The decision-support system is an important investment for us, and we wanted to be sure that we would have a smooth and reliable implementation," says Håkan Johansson, Group Controller at Trebruk AB. "Our previous experience in working with Astrakan was positive, and that combined with their product expertise made the company a natural choice." Astrakan has been working for many years with data warehouses, system integration and data transformation and has considerable expertise in ETL tools and decision support systems. With the help of Astrakan's project model, implementation is conducted in a systematic and cost- efficient manner. The new system is integrated with existing business systems. The implementation also includes a certain amount of knowledge transfer and training to ensure proper use of the system. "Thanks to our extensive experience in working with implementation and decision support systems, we could ensure that Trebruk was able to start using its new system quickly," says Jonas Boström, Account Manager at Astrakan. Astrakan completed the implementation at Munkedal last winter, while the implementation for the entire Group was completed during the period from August to October.
