Adera is establishing a venture capital company Adera is establishing Adera Venture Zone. A venture capital company which will evaluate and invest in new business ideas in the new economy, and support entrepreneurs during the critical stage when building the company. Within the next six months the company will evaluate 100-125 e-business ventures, with the aim of investing in 10-15 start-ups or spin-offs during the same period. Over ten business ideas are already being evaluated right now. "Adera receives many proposals from entrepreneurs who realise that our experience and range of expertise are perfect for ensuring the successful implementation of a "start-up". We have the expertise to take care of concept development, analysis and platform design for the launch and marketing of the completed solution", says Adera's Chief Executive Officer, Rolf Jansson. In addition to ideas from entrepreneurs, Adera Venture Zone will also benefit from ideas which will come from existing clients who wish to establish network-related subsidiary operations. A third source of investment projects will be the staff of Adera who nurtures ideas which have potential for development into successful enterprises. "Speed is vital within this field. He who responds fastest, wins. We have developed a model for the various phases through which possible projects must pass, which enables us to be able to launch interesting e-business ventures quickly", states Rolf Jansson. Adera Venture Zone will initially have SEK 30 million available for investment. The capital will be supplied primarily by external investors, but Adera will also contribute capital. Furthermore, Adera's employees will also be offered the opportunity to take up shares. Around 35 % of the shares in the company will initially be owned by Adera, the partners and employees, and approx. 65 % by external investors. Two new share issues are planned for 2000 which, together, will provide around a further SEK 200 million. The objective of Adera Venture Zones is that 2-3 of the companies in which the company invests shall be listed on the stock exchange or sold within 18 months. It also planned that Adera Venture Zone will be listed itself on the stock exchange within 24-36 months.
