Adera purchases Swedish IT company OOPix The purchase of the OOPix consulting company strongly reinforces Adera in the area of object-oriented systems development. OOPix offers customers expertise in object-oriented systems development, ranging in scope from part of a project to a change in the entire development process for IT support and operations. The company currently has 25 employees. In 1999, OOPix had net sales of SEK 24 million and a profit margin of 6 percent. Customers are primarily large companies such as Scania, SAS, Telia, the Swedish Postal Administration, the Swedish State Railways and Ericsson. "OOPix builds third-generation Web applications and definitely stands for state-of-the-art applications design," says Jörgen Ericsson, CEO of Adera. "Combined with a very strong concept for the integration of operations and IT, this expertise forms a key element in all the advanced projects in which Adera is involved." The purchase price of SEK 75 million, funded with Adera B shares, is expected to impact Adera's 2000 earnings favorably. OOPix has an office in Stockholm and with this purchase the Adera Group now consists of slightly more than 500 employees in seven countries. OOPix was started in 1999 by consultants with a background in what was then Enator Functional Systems. Operations focus entirely on object orientation on all levels, from method support, project management, support for design and realization, quality assurance, and training. OOPix works with all leading tools, languages and development standards. The company consists of 25 employees, and in 1999 it had net sales of SEK 24 million.
