Adera strengthens its position in the expansive Öresund region through acquisition of Blanking Adera is acquiring Blanking, a strategic branding firm based in Malmö, which with its 22 employees, provides Adera with additional expertise in strategic market communications. Adera now has 55 consultants in the expansive Öresund region. Blanking began operations in the 1970s, and its customer list includes Skanska Sverige AB, the SACO trade union and Safe Försäkring within the IKEA group. The Company also carried out the well publicised survey for the Swedish Teachers' Union. In 1999, the Company invoiced SEK 34 million and reported consulting revenues of SEK 16.5 million, with a profit of MSEK 1,4. "In our search for a strategic consulting firm, within market communications in the Öresund region, the choice fell on Blanking, which in recent years has proven it can handle complicated communications tasks and has created good results for its clients," says Henrik Martin, Manager of the Swedish operations within the Adera Group. "As a result of the acquisition, we also secure a strong presence in the Öresund region, which is expected to show very strong growth in the years ahead. Blanking complements the recent acquisition of the Braendpunkt A/S Internet consulting firm in Copenhagen enabling us to deliver a full service within the region. "The acquisition is an important element in strengthening Adera's business concept, which is based on coordinating and offering the best expertise within market communications, management and IT." Blanking will continue to operate under its own name until further notice. Adera expects that its number of employees within the Öresund region will increase to more than 100 within a year. The purchase price of MSEK 12 was paid with Adera B shares.
