Panduit wins prestigious industry award
Panduit, a global leader in Unified Physical Infrastructure (UPI) based solutions, is celebrating after winning a prestigious industry award for the design and deployment of its new world headquarters building. Panduit was presented with Realcomm’s 2010 “Digie award”, in the category Best Use of Automation – Corporate Real Estate, during the opening ceremonies at its UPI Symposium. The new five-story, 280,000 sq ft building which opened in June 2010 combines state-of-the-art visibility and control for all critical building systems focused on sustainable energy, operational cost savings and intelligent design features − all aligned under a single unified infrastructure. Vineeth Ram, Panduit VP of Strategic Marketing said: “When designing the new headquarters, we used Panduit’s own Connected Building Solutions in the form of an intelligent, open standards infrastructure that extends throughout a property to connect both technology components and bridge stakeholder needs. “Panduit’s approach to UPI represents a dramatic leap forward in smart and healthy work environments, significantly reducing capital and operational expenses in buildings while enhancing productivity, safety, reliability, and sustainability.” Panduit Connected Building Solutions realise UPI design principles by enabling aligned facility and network systems to be built directly into the building fabric. These solutions extend the reach of cabling infrastructures to all endpoint devices creating seamless integration of building systems with new services like IP telephony, wireless connectivity, digital media, telepresence and unified communications. The Headquarters will initially serve 550 employees and is able to accommodate a total of 800. The company in total now employs over 4,000 people globally. Kenny Presly, UK and Ireland Area Manager at Panduit, said: “Panduit has established long-term collaborative relationships with global industry leaders to develop and integrate innovative, holistic solutions for our customers. “The new Headquarters serves as a living case study of Panduit’s UPI approach, which gives enterprises the capabilities to connect, manage and automate communications, computing, power, control and security systems for a smarter business foundation. “This award is testament to the hard work of all those employees involved in developing this solution.” Jim Young, Realcomm President and Co-Founder said: “What we look for are those corporate and commercial real estate owners and operators who have taken the chance to transform, to go to the next step and to integrate technology in the building environment to really create a new type of real estate.” To learn more about Panduit’s connected building solutions visit http://www.panduit.com/Solutions/ConnectedBuildings
