ADEY presented with Queen’s Award
Magnetic filtration pioneer ADEY Professional Heating Solutions was granted royal recognition when presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation by Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire Dame Janet Trotter, DBE.
The Queen’s Award citation, which was signed by HRH The Queen and Prime Minister David Cameron was read by Peter Bungard, Gloucestershire County Council Chief Executive.
The company that invented the MagnaClean® filter, which maintains and protects central heating systems and reduces domestic heating bills and carbon emissions using magnetic technology, has been honoured with the award in recognition of its continued product innovation and extraordinary rise from garden shed to multi-million pound British manufacturing success in just ten years.
The Queen’s personal representative, Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire Dame Janet Trotter said: “The Queen’s Award is reserved for excellent companies and the highest standard of excellence in business. The fact that ADEY has achieved these levels of excellence in such a short space of time is a fantastic achievement. It’s testament to an exceptional company and all the people who have worked so hard in every area of the business to make it happen and I congratulate them all.”
Receiving the prestigious prize at the company’s Cheltenham headquarters with his wife Andrea, company founder and inventor Chris Adey said: “We’ve come a long way since the garden shed. It’s been quite a journey and for a lot of it, it’s been an incredibly challenging journey, but I always believed we had a product that was worth the risks and a product we could be proud of. Since those early days when my wife, Andrea, and I set up the business, the company has undergone incredible change and the growth that we’ve been able to achieve has only been possible because of the exceptional team we have in place here.
“I feel extremely proud to receive this Queen’s Award, but I do so on behalf of every individual in the business and consider it very much our award. As a company that started from such humble beginnings, to think that we’ve been recognised in this way alongside some vast corporate organisations is remarkable.”
ADEY will also receive an invitation to attend The Queen’s Reception at Buckingham Palace.
