Customer Success Story: Capgemini and a global insurance brokerage firm
A major British American multinational insurance brokerage firm had a requirement to migrate its business-critical applications and data, which formed a highly customized end-to-end insurance and broker system in Lotus Notes, to a 3rd party broker management system used by the insurance company.
The Challenge:
The goal was to migrate all available application data from Lotus Notes to the new system with minimal disruption to the business. The company needed all the data to be moved to a more structured format, processed, and mapped correctly for integration into the system.
The Solution:
Capgemini, a global systems integrator, partnered with Adopteq, a software company offering legacy application and database analysis, archival and migration solutions, to carry out this project. Adopteq’s products helped extract the data from Lotus Notes and prepare it for the new system.
Using a phased approach, Capgemini and Adopteq worked together to first analyze the databases using InvestigatorPlus then performed content exports, fine-tune the data migration process, adjusting at each step to ensure the data could be accurately mapped and imported into the Epic system.
The team quickly assessed the applications with the help of Adopteq’s InvestigatorPlus for Domino software, which provided valuable insights into applications and any potential issues that could arise during the migration. With this information, Capgemini’s team could fix any potential challenges in the migration process, ensuring the transition went smoothly.
Despite the large volume and complexity of the applications, the team successfully exported all the databases which included millions of documents, and many forms within days. This was made possible by leveraging Adopteq’s MigratorPlus to perform an accelerated, accurate export (which included rich-text, attachments and maintaining document relationships) ensuring the migration was completed successfully, within the company defined timeline, and with high-fidelity satisfying data compliance requirements.
The Outcome:
By working together, Adopteq and Capgemini successfully migrated the legacy data into Epic, ensuring compliance and data integrity at every step. Their collaboration resulted in a swift migration with minimal downtime, high data fidelity, enabling the customer to transition more efficiently to their new broker management system.
