LORD Sensing, Stellar Technology — a global leader in sensing systems — has announced its 4-20 mA Hazardous Location Transmitter Sensors now meet the latest global intrinsically safe standards.
Certified to CSA and ATEX certifications since 2004 and with more than 10,000 transmitters already in use, the new IECEx certification provides users, no matter their location, with a global solution that has product performance and reliability. This new certification also allows customers with a global reach to benefit from a reduced inventory since they can stock fewer part numbers.
“This capability and associated certifications are critical for customers seeking a highly-reliable and durable product for their intrinsically safe sensing needs in the oil and gas; food and chemical; and other hazardous area processing industries,” said David Edeal, product manager for LORD Sensing.
The new certification expands LORD Sensing’s intrinsically safe offering to nearly all pressure, temperature, load/force/torque, and external 4-20 mA transmitter amplifier designs using just a single set of universal electronics. The upgraded electronics platform also provides improved EMI immunity for noisier applications like drilling and frac’ing. The new electronics filtering ensures low noise signals in the harshest environments without sacrificing measurement fidelity and signal bandwidth.
