Advocate associates going RED for heart health
In recognition of American Heart Month, Advocate Health Care’s nearly 35,000 employees are pulling out all of the stops to raise awareness about heart disease and heart-healthy living.
Things kick off on National Wear Red Day, on February 7, when all associates are being encouraged to don something red to show their support for healthy hearts. Additionally, Advocate will be broadcasting a special “Heart Health” edition of AdvocateLive featuring cardiologist, Peter J. Stecy, M.D. at 11:30 a.m. Viewers can join the conversation in real-time as the show streams live on Advocate’s website and Facebook page.
As part of our commitment to the health of the communities we serve, Advocate has also launched a new, quick and easy online cardiovascular risk assessment tool. It’s backed by a promise that those determined to be at the highest-risk level, can be seen by one of our cardiologists within 24 hours.
Also during February, health enews will be packed with informative and timely heart-related stories featuring expert insight from physicians from across our system. Advocate’s new health and wellness website is quickly becoming the region’s go-to resource for health information.
Finally, Advocate is also excited to partner with the American Heart Association’s “Red Hats for Newborns” campaign. Hundreds of handmade, knitted, red hats will be given to all babies born on February 7 at Advocate’s 12 hospitals as a reminder to live a heart healthy life from day one.
