Advocate Health Care hospitals earn national honors for environmental stewardship

Advocate Health Care has been awarded a “System for Change” Award from Practice Greenhealth, a leading health care community that empowers its members to increase their efficiencies and environmental stewardship while improving patient safety. This is the 7th consecutive time Advocate has earned the recognition. The announcement was made today.

The award recognizes health systems that are working cohesively to gather data, set system goals, benchmark, and share successes in environmental performance.

“Our goal of creating the most efficient, least wasteful processes has a direct impact on patient care and good health outcomes,” said Mary Larsen, director of environmental stewardship at Advocate Health Care. “Implementing sustainable and environmentally sound methods aligns with Advocate’s Mission, Values and Philosophy.”

Additionally, nearly all of Advocate’s hospitals earned honors for their green efforts.

       The award honors hospitals who have the highest overall scoring and best meet key performance indicators.
