Advansia awarded assignment with Statsbygg for the Ocean Space Centre in Norway
Advansia, part of AFRY, will join Statsbygg’s project organisation in the development of the Ocean Space Centre in Trondheim, Norway. When completed it will be one of the world’s most advanced facilities for research and education.
The Ocean Space Centre will be central for increasing value and reconstructing the marine industries locally, nationally and globally. It will contribute to the green transition of the maritime industry, and secure Norway’s position as a leading maritime nation.
As a part of the assignment, Advansia will deliver project management services including supply buyers, project manager quality, systematic completion, Integrated Technical Building installations (ITB), facility management, finance and document controllers and construction site logics to the project.

World-class facilities and premises
The Ocean Space Centre has an estimated total area of 49.000 square metres. The three buildings will include wet and dry laboratories, complex technical user equipment, workshops, lecture halls, offices and meeting rooms.
As part of the scope, the plan is also to develop several test stations at sea – both around the islands of Hitra and Frøya, as well as outside of Ålesund and Trondheim.
The construction is planned to start autumn 2022 and will according to the plan be completed in 2028. The value of Advansia’s assignment is not disclosed.
