The acquisition of Effekt increases ÅF’s presence in West Sweden and boosts capacity for end-to-end commitments within buildings and technical installations.

Effekt is specialised in electronics and communication solutions within the industrial and energy sectors and municipal buildings. Services include consultation, design and calculations within automation, building services engineering, electronics and communication systems.

In the property market, long term growth is driven by global trends such as urbanization, increased sustainability requirements and a demographic shift towards an aged population. These trends bring a need for investments in terms of infrastructure and public transport, housing, offices, commercial properties and hospitals in all cities within the region, such as Gothenburg, Varberg, Falkenberg and Borås.

”We look forward to welcoming Effekt to ÅF, and to increasing our joint capacity for end-to-end commitments within properties and technical installations. The acquisition is in line with our strategy to grow within our core market and to increase customer value through cross-functional competence. Effekt complements our current services and together we see interesting growth opportunities for large-scale commitments within the sectors of energy, industry and infrastructure, says Jonas Gustavsson, President and CEO of ÅF.

”With ÅF, we are now able to develop the good relationships and competence that we have built in this region. There are exciting times ahead and we look forward to offering our customers a broader range of services and our continued commitment. For our employees, the acquisition brings increased opportunities in terms of interesting projects and continuous competence development,” says Gert Bengtsson, CEO of Effekt.

Effekt has 40 employees based in Varberg and net sales of 31 MSEK in 2017. The company was consolidated in ÅF as per 1 June 2018.
